This game fails on many levels. The gameplay is no good with the shooting being extremely difficult along with the graphics not being up to par, with the addition of the horribly created slow motion feature. They tried too hard to rip off the amazing classic "Max Payne". this game needed a few more months of development to even closely relate to any mediocre game.
Not to be condescending or anything, but I couldn't help but notice one comment in this review that brazenly stuck out to me, "They tried too hard to rip off the amazing classic "Max Payne".
You do realize that "Max Payne" was, in fact, influenced greatly by John Woo's more popular Hong Kong-based action films, such as "Hard Boiled" and "The Killer." That is not to say "Max Payne" isn't an extraordinary game, but to say "Stranglehold" some how rips off "Max Payne" when "MP" rips off John Woo films and "Stranglehold" is, by all means, a spiritual sequel to the great "Hard Boiled" (the film "Max Payne" stylistically emulates) that is, well, kind of an awkard statement. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion.
